this is why we make friends

i just had to capture this girl at the grocery store even if it was with my severely limited phone.

every single time we go to the grocery store when i put brennan in the cart, she immediately positions her legs and body in such a way that she can look out at where the cart is going. does she want to look at momma whom she loves and adores? nah, momma is boring. she wants to look out through the aisles and scream and wave at every single stranger that we pass by. needless to say, my trip is interrupted many many times to continue conversations that my baby has started.

and this is my payback for my attempts of moving the child to one nap a day. most difficult transition ever. b was zonked out about 2 minutes into our ride.

:::11 months old:::

well, we are now one month away from you being a one year old, brennan. it is so surreal remembering this time last year and how you were still in my belly. daddy and i were so anxious to meet you! i couldn't wait to kiss those tiny little heels that pushed around and stuck into my sides and to squeeze that little bootie that would wedge itself into my ribcage. and it was you! you, my sweet perfect babe. we have now had nearly a year together and it has been so fun and has gone by so very quickly.

* you haven't said your first word yet nor have you taken your first steps. but i'm okay with that.

* you do love to babble and chat and can carry on entire conversations with yourself

* you are FUNNY. we were driving on a dirt road in the car today and you discovered it was a funny noise to go 'aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh' while driving on a bumpy road and it made your voice make silly sounds. you did that the WHOLE way home.

* you are PLAYFUL and like to laugh. if you see us laughing at dinner, you want to join in and do a fake hah hah hah sound just so you can laugh with us.

* you like to pretend to feed us your cheerios, but right when we get close enough to take a bite, you pull it away into your mouth and laugh at your wily shenanigans. you are so clever you little one.

* you like to cuddle. you will sit on our lap for stretches of time just relaxing or playing with a toy. i love love love that.

* you are so so friendly. you easily transfer from one person to another person to another and don't mind one bit. you love making friends at the grocery store. you just flash your crooked-tooth smile and win them over

brennan's dedication

we dedicated brennan at christ community on march 11th. it was a neat day and something i have imagined doing many, many times. it was very significant and special to be able to dedicate our firstborn with both sets of grandparents in attendance!

our amazingly close circle of friends have all had babies recently so there were 6 of us families who dedicated our babies at the same time. neat that our kiddos will grow up together having been dedicated together. love them!
